(Employment Office) After the recent decisions by our fearless government to extend benefits to the unemployed people of the country more and more job seekers are finding difficulty in job connections throughout the city.

JobConnect is one such place where you are supposed to be able to go and find qualified jobs in any field. After hours of plugging away at the website, the job search is less than satisfying. Even in a huge city like this knowing someone already established in a company is very useful.

Everyone who has ever had a smart phone knows the dilemma when something like a cracked screen or a plunge in the sink full of water takes your all important multi-fashionable / functional life tool away from you.

Every email address, phone number and note lost and gone forever. Well that’s not entirely true with the iPhone unless you never sync and save your current configuration to the iTunes.

I’m usually pretty good about leaving the phone on the charger over night and syncing when I do. However, this time I kinda made the mistake of turning off the automatic iTunes sync option in settings. That was mistake #1. I can’t even think of all the notes and contacts that I didn’t get to save due to annoying popping up programs.

Our Killer TV Stand

We built the worlds greatest tv stand last weekend. We have one of those huge, overly huge, TVs that just takes up too much room when you have all the components on the sides. So we decided to take the time and set up one kick butt stand for the TV so wee could get more out of our viewing pleasure. Now the boys are playing Guitar Hero like they are in a rock band and we get to relax and watch movies in style while we lay back and munch pop corn!

I came across an article that was pretty interesting. We used to own a company that could have used help like this. The article was about corporate performance management and that is something that if we would have had a little help in that area we would not have ended up selling to a larger company.

Some of the other companies in this town that could use some help like this are the cable company that provides the internet service to our area. I think we would be better off on dial up internet as many times as we have lost internet service in the past months. I can honestly say that I have been offline more than I have been online or trouble shooting the connection which is not really my job now is it?

We are thinking about buying a house in the northern Las Vegas Area. I was looking at the area and that area of town is looking pretty good for living and investing. One thing I am looking at is that our neighbor will be one of our really good friends. So I was thinking about splitting the cost of internet and hooking up a CAT5e cable from our house to his. Literally there would be a cable connecting the houses and the internet. Pretty convenient for us both since we would save on the ever rising cost of internet service in our area. I can’t believe that the cable company is raising our internet again. They should maybe stop giving the internet away to everyone and leave our costs alone??!!??

Hidden Spy Camera

We are going on vacation so we set up a hidden spy camera in our living room that covers the whole entry way to the house. It’s very nice to think that we are going to be able to monitor the house whether we are here or not. I also set up a WOL (Wake on LAN) for the computer just in case something happens to the power in the house or the computer restarts because of a MS update. We have yet to test it out outside of the network besides for once when I first set up the hidden spy camera. This hidden spy camera has already come in handy when I was trying to catch the little ones messing with each other. I found out that the older on really IS picking on the baby when no one is looking .. or so he thought no one was looking!!

I am going to get like ten things of wrinkle cream and give it to all the people I know that are wrinkly. I know that it seems a little cruel but I don’t care. I want to video tape it and get their reaction when they open the bag and see the wrinkle cream. I think there is some Americas Funniest Home Videos there. I can’t wait to do the first one so I can see how they react and see how well I can capture that moment!

Dell Memory

Dell kept sending me these emails about deals that they are having and that are ending and there will be no more deals after these deals are over. What? So I did some checking and I found that you can get deals outside of Dell. I was looking for some more dell memory for my dell computer and sure enough dell wants way more than should ever be charged for any memory. This stuff should less if you are buying after you make your initial computer purchase shouldn’t it? Well I found a good place to get memory for my computer and my laptop so I am not even tempted to look on the manufacturer site anymore.

Even though I have one of the greatest phones ever invented ever in the history of cell phones I still find that there is only one problem that I seem to have with every phone I get or have had. I can not hear what anyone is saying half the time. I thought I was going deaf until I found these cell phone amplifiers for people like me that can’t hear a damn thing when someone has something important to say to me. Sheesh .. why does the only thing that doesn’t work on a phone is the phone? Don’t they make cell phones that give the option to blast the ear piece or are they really that worried about people going deaf form noise? I like noise .. let me hear what is being said.

So I found out that it is actually pretty reasonable to have term life insurance for me and my family will not have to worry about me when I am gone. i really don’t want anyone thinking about me in any ill ways when I am gone so I want to make sure that everything is taken care of before then. There are so many types of insurance out there these days that it was actually hard for me to figure out which one was for me and my situation. But once I got all that out of the way I was good to go!!

From the Oprah Book club comes A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose the newest addition to the required reading books of all time. I will be at Buy.com getting this book as soon as humanly possible. One thing people always find out about me sooner or later is that I love to read. I have a pretty extensive book collection that sometimes gets me the name librarian. This will be another one that is getting added to the library room very shortly.

We are getting geared up for all the Trade Shows that are coming to Vegas. They always have the best ones in the summer time out here it seems. I love going by all the trade show booths and seeing all the new cool stuff that is around this year. We have one show that is the beast of them all. This massive trade show for electronics and wholesalers is simply the biggest and best show that I think comes to our area. If you are in town ask one of the hotels desks for a list and dates of the trade shows that are in town at this time and you will probably get comp’ed a few tickets to get in if you ask the right person the right way!!

Keep Your Home Safe

We have been contemplating on getting an in home alarm for a few months now. Our neighborhood seems to be pretty safe even though our neighbor has roller blinds on all her windows and doors. I would like to see about getting alarm system monitoring in our home. As long as we didn’t have to add any other services I think that this is a doable project. I remember back a while ago when you had a home alarm you needed to have a phone line as well. I wonder if they have upgraded to hooking your alarm into your internet connection?

Teach or Learn

I should go back to school and teach. There is no reason that I can not get back into school and finish my teaching degree and get on with my life. I thought that it would be easy to get into school again but I am finding it more and more difficult. Every loan I have applied for this week has been shot down in a blaze of glory. I am not giving up hope though. I have an idea that will get me back into school and back on the fast track to learning and then eventually teaching.

I am excited about this idea and I will let you know if it works.

Foreign Trade Routes

I was thinking about the local market for glass blowers and I see that there is a lack of respect for the artists in our city. There are events where most of our glass blowing artists can sell their pieces but in the main stream of the smoke shops that sell glass pipes and hookahs there is not a lot of room for the local artists to sell off their work. Most of the shops are owned and operated by people from foreign countries that have a life line to their home country for glass.

That makes me a little sad. I would like to see more localization and local promotions for people that actually live and are trying to live here. Using your skill and talent and creativity to market yourself and make a living for yourself is scary sometimes. Even more so when you have no source for generating income as you have no place to sell your art.

Bad Tenants!

So I had to do a 3 Day Notice today on a tenant of ours because she let the grass die. The funny thing about was that the owner actually went to their front door and chewed them out for letting the frontyard grass die and told them that they should look for another place to live. This was all before the 3 Day Notice was actually posted on their door. So when I went to post it, the woman was sittin out front and gave me the dirtiest look as I handed her the Notice to get the hell out. I expected it as I always do. But if you were an owner wanting to kick out your tenant wouldn’t you just take the damn 3 Day Notice with you when you went to chew your tenants out or would you chew them out and send someone else to serve the 3 day…lol. I just think it’s funny that the owner couldn’t hold back and decided to go and yell at them like they were his children. Well they are definitely being punished cause they will be evicted soon and will have to find another place to live. He is kicking them out!

Winter Time…Let’s Enjoy It

So today I was sitting at work again at the front desk doing my job and two other positions on top of everything else. Not that I don’t have enough to do within my position alone, but that’s not the point. As I have already mentioned before the cold season has arrived and it is hitting everyone around me. At home, at work, at the grocery store…even to people I talk to on the phone. Everyone is sick in some way or another lately. Well anyway today at work I had the worst headache and of course I didn’t have my TheraFlu around to help me out…and knock me out. I got some Benadryl allergy cold and sinus and it worked wonders for me for about 4 hours….which is just what I needed. I was literally to the point where I was about to go home and crawl up in my bed and not come out until it was summer again. And it’s not even winter yet…lol. I sure hope all this sickness is just from the change in weather and that it doesn’t last all winter long. I enjoy the winter season too much to be sick the whole time.

So therefore I am hoping that all this flu and cold crap will be gone by the end of October at the very least. So everyone out there chug some cough medicine, take your Benadryl, grab a bottle of TheraFlu and medicate yourself so that everyone can be healthy again.

Tivo

The other day we were walking around Wal-mart shopping for groceries and merchandise that we spontaneously decided to purchase and we stopped over in the Electronics section of the store. I wanted to buy a VCR because believe it or not we don’t have one anymore…lol. I guess they are out of style and behind the times now but I still wanted one since we still have boxes of videotapes that were good and we could still watch. Ernie said that it was gonna be a waste to get a VCR when we could just get TIVO. He actually had a very good point because TIVO can record the movies and TV shows that you want to watch at a later time. Also you can pause it if you need a drink from the kitchen or if you have to go to the bathroom by chance. Then you can come back and watch the rest. Oh and even better if your 5 year old son decided to snatch up the remote control while you are in the bathroom and changes the channel to cartoons, then you can change it back to your recorded show and rewind it if you missed anything. TIVO is really the best bet when it comes to television entertainment….you really can’t lose in any situation. So we decided we are going to get TIVO HD Companion and make sure we never miss a show or good movie that is showing ever again.

No more TV in the house. If you want to watch TV go outside and open your eyes. Things are happening all around you and all you need to do is look out your front door these days and you will see the news happening right before your eyes. So many crimes are committed every say here and there seems to be no progress in getting the right person who committed these crimes. Crime is so bad in Las Vegas that some crimes that might seem huge to us are pushed aside or written off as “Not important enough to waste our police mans time” !!! WHAT???? That is the response you will get if you call the police in our town and ask them to come investigate a stolen car. Or a break in at your home. They will tell you that someone is on their way and it will be a day or two before they can actually get someone out there to help you. Even domestic violence, being at an all time high here, is pushed aside and left for time constraints. We need more police here in Vegas that is for sure. Why can’t we get more officers here? Is there some kind of dark cloud over the law enforcement agencies? Are the advertising for more officers? Who knows. But the bottom line is that we are in need of more help now .. not in a few years. Maybe our elected officials will do something about this .. or are they to under time constraints to make themselves popular enough to make it to the top and not worry about whats going on in the city every day.?

Bad News

My babe just called me and told me that she is going to UMC to meet her mom and that a long time family friend just had a major stroke and is in the helicopter right now on her way to UMC. They don’t do Life Flight unless it is something really serious. I will say a prayer and everyone else who reads this say one also. I have to stay here with the boys so I won’t be doing anything but waiting for an answer on whether they are all ok and if she is making it ok or what the hell is going on.

My New Program

I have this new program that I am trying out and I like it so far but I haven’t really used it to the full potential of what the program is capable. Journaler is an amazing program for the MAC that allows you to keep an offline journal and publish that journal to your online blog anytime you choose.

So far I have used the program only a few times and only on one of my blogs. As I see it .. this could be an amazingly easy way to get all of my blogging done without leaving all of my browsers open. I could use them for searching for subjects and doing research instead of keeping all my blogs open. Hmmm .. thats a pretty good plan ..maybe I will give that a shot and see how it goes.

Either way give Journaler a try and see what you think about how easy it is to keep a journal and post them to your blogs.

I really want to know what is going to happen over the next few years and how fast the changes some companies are making are going to take effect. I want to know what big companies like BP are doing to effect the climate change for our world. Are there any solutions in site for making a greener healthier earth?

The global climate is going to become a real issue for our children and this should be a bigger concern for everyone. State governments need to take fast action to reduce green house gases and increase energy efficiency. What about the reusable energy sources that have been around for a very long time but have not been used? There is a video on this website that I found that shows what the concerns are of our government. What are they doing to help the green planet we live on? They are working hard in Florida to see that the planet is livable for our children and they are following the examples of California’s governor Arnold.

This is a major issue for us and we are looking toward our own personal future to create a more green living lifestyle for ourselves and our family. I have beenthinking about making my own beer now for a while. I wanted to try it a while back but didn’t have the funds to get all the equipment. Apparently you can get whatever you need locally and from just about anywhere that sells food grade products.

You only need a few items to actually brew the beer, some of which I didn’t realize that we had already. I also checked out Austin Home Brew Supply and they have some pretty cool kits that you can start with and even a kegging kit. For less than $300 you can get started on making your own beers. I also found the ingredients very cheap at another website, MakeBeer.net You can get any kind of beer you want and now I think I have found a reason to start another blog up for my beer venture.

Las Vegas Review Journal has changed their website once again. I use LVRJ for so many things, job search, to find a rental property…I mostly check the classifieds. But recently I have noticed that it is much harder to find anything that I am looking for on the website. For instance I was looking for available job posts and it used to pull up a list of categories that you could pick from such as clerical/office, construction or computers. But now you have to do a search query in order to find anything. You literally have to put in a keyword of what you may be looking for and it will bring up all the job posts that were related to your keyword. But it doesn’t work the same as it used to. Now it pulls up mostly just casino jobs and its harder to find the smaller business posts which is usually what I am looking for…cause let’s face it I have lived here all my life and I do not want to work in a casino. I have my drinks and gamble at the casino…why would I wanna work there too.
I would appreciate it if they just made their website more simple again instead of updating it to be more confusing. I depend on LVRJ and I need for them to make some sense.

Car audio has always been huge among teens and car enthusiasts alike. Huge 12″ woofers powered by a big bad 1000 watt amplifier rumbling down the street can really make heads turn. Crystal clarity from big power tweeters just adds the bing to the boom.

There are so many great car audio shops in Las Vegas but one in particular we like. Desert Audio has one of the coolest show rooms in Las Vegas. Their staff is somewhat knowledgeable to what you need. They are on Western Ave. kind of in the ghetto of Vegas but a col store none the less. There is also a few tint jobs coming out of there that are looking pretty good. You might stop by when you are in Vegas lookin for some boom boom.

Could Have Had $1000

I missed out on the chance for $1000. We all come from different backgrounds and I happen to be the mechanic of the office. Everyone and their brother come to me for car advice. I even have one friend that asks me to diagnose his “noises” over the phone. I love it though but I like to give people breaks. So I do a lot of free stuff and I do a ton of work for much less than they could have got at a shop here in town. Now as a friend to these people I refuse to let anyone else work on their vehicles also. There is not a single shop in the entire city that I would trust my vehicle to so I feel the same about my hommies.

Well this weekend I missed out on $1000 worth of work .. well I didn’t miss out on the work .. just the dough. So my peeps if you are reading this .. “brake” your boy off .. I really could use the change for something nice for me and my lady!!!!

RSS feeds are a great way to get information to everyone fast and effectively. So why aren’t more companies using Feeds to get out the information about their products they have “on sale” this week or a great deal on a New Car This Week Only?

If a car dealership has too many cars in the stock pile they usually have a nice sale that benefits the car buyer. Well how long could it take to get those buyers to the dealership if they only use traditional methods of advertising? How about the umpteen hundred people they have subscribing to their website ??? Are they sending them emails or RSS feeds to let them know that there is a sale coming up or going on?

I would be willing to say that every car dealer in Las Vegas could use a feature like this on their sites. OR they can use posting on blogs to have the same effect without spending a ton of money setting up the backend of their existing sites with Feed ability. You got questions .. we got answers.

The PayPerPost blogger to advertiser relationship is so awesome … We should have been on this blog talking constantly and getting all those good high PR incoming links to get this blog up and BOMBing out the little guys. hehe

We are working on the linking thing trying to link in as much as we link out. Anyone with a PR 6 hook us up. Blogs blogs blogs … where are all the blogs? We want to get really into this PPP thing and get as much linking as we can going on. Remember the point a long time ago with LTP was to “Literally Link all the Sites on the Planet” .. somehow that has to be possible. Get a link to every site out there and the 130 new sites (blogs) or what ever the number is, I know it’s pretty high, and thats per like day or something. Have to check that one out deeper. Just super busy right now.

What . .. .two peas in a pod take on a third. This company that we have been planning for just released the third company slogan in two days and it seems to be working for them. “Manage eh Twa” We are sure that it has some other meaning .. right!

Vacation went well .. we had a ton of fun and got to relax a bit. we took 2384923847 pictures of the beautiful scenery up on the mountain. I will link some of them here when I get more time ..

One Day Left

There is one day left till vacation. Tomorrow we will take leave finally for all the work that we have been doing for other companies up to this point this is a well deserved vacation.

Not your typical vacation though .. we will be heading to the mountain for a weekend and a day of fun and hiking. Sounds exciting don’t it!

We will take lots of pictures so check out the photos site for the scenery. Should be some good dtuff on there.

Long Ass Day

Today was a long day. Since 2 am we have been building a structure for a company that we will help become the super ad company of the new age. So many hours have gone into the structuring of this company so that when they finally open their doors they will have plenty to do. Plenty of clients and plenty of incoming revenue.

This is the longest day of the planning process so far. No lunch and no dinner till 7 .. yeesh.

Well here is a little advice, Shoot a video with your home camera, digital phone, webcam, whatever .. upload the video to YouTube .. BAM you have a commercial. The funnier it is the more people will watch it and the goofier you are the better. People love goofy!

I want to create my own empireic business. I was thinking about a blogging business but it seems that what I want to do is already being done. SO .. I think in a few months when this blog is ready I will add it to the the list of the two I have going now. The idea was to get people to advertise on their blogs and get advertisers to pay for it. Good idea right .. well its being done by PPP and we knew it would be there but where not sure how far it would go .. dang .. so far so good right!

We want to welcome a new company aboard .. this was a meeting that we actually had on New Years LOL

We went out in the traditional fashion and met with a couple of guys that are looking to spice things up with their company. Now they have been in business for years and are just looking to take a new direction when it comes to their marketing. We have mentioned some of the options available like the WOM advertising on PPP and some of the other things like visual and viral marketing.

They have developed a new product. Actually it is a new twist on an existing product but non the less it is a great deal. They have reinvented the wheel on this one .. well .. they have reinvented a wheel stand for large trucks.

It’s a stand that you sling over the wheel and you can step up on it for those hard to reach under the hood jobs on a big ol 4×4. Pretty neat invention and even better with what they have created ….

We will link up to their site when it is complete and the purchase side of it is done. For now you will just have to wait.

New Years Day Tip Your Hat

The new Years is here … again the day and night of drinking and taking a break from work is almost upon us. What does this mean for the company .. well since we are not really a “company” yet and we are just helping out other companies … I guess that means that we are taking a break from .. well nothing really.

We work for several companies that we can’t mention because some of them are not up and running yet and some of them we are helping to get back on their feet. What we do is to help out companies that are starting out or are in a little financial slump then when they get going or back on their feet again we collect a small fee.

Since only one of them is really paying us up front it’s not a deal for us to take a little break this year.

So Happy New Years .. when it gets here!!

Christmas

Christmas is always a big deal with us. We go and see the family and take a break from working. This year we are going to the parents house for food, fun and presents. Woot!~

I think that someone mentioned story telling of Christmas past this year. That should be fun. We have quite a few funny Christmas’ under our belts.

There was one year where Grama caught someone in the bathroom .. handling some personal business .. and we don’t mean pooping. That is a post for another time though!
